Dr. Michelle Blumenthal is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Maryland (#05649).
Dr. Blumenthal earned her B.A. in Psychology and Spanish from the University of Maryland College Park and graduated Cum Laude. She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from The American School of Professional Psychology. Internship training was completed at Nova Southeastern University and her postdoctoral training was completed at a community mental health clinic. During her training, she conducted individual therapy, couples therapy, and group therapy in both English and Spanish as well as psychological and psychoeducational testing.
Dr. Blumenthal has experience working in a multitude of settings including medical clinics, university-based psychological service center, community mental health clinics, partial hospitalizations, and private practices with adults, children, and their families. She has completed specialized training to treat trauma using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and has many years of experience addressing a variety of traumatic events, including but not limited to motor vehicle accidents, abuse, war related issues, immigration issues, and traumatic injury.
Currently, Dr. Blumenthal is a staff psychologist at The Snow Psychology Group, LLC where she offers psychotherapy services to adults of all ages (18+) in English and Spanish. She conducts psychotherapy from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) orientation. Her clinical interests include, but are not limited to: anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, immigration and acculturation issues, pain management, caregiver support, and life transitions, such as grief and loss. She offers daytime appointments.
In her spare time, Dr. Blumenthal enjoys spending time with her spouse and three children.
