Dr. Joseph Snow is a board-certified clinical neuropsychologist and a licensed psychologist in the state of Maryland (license #03832).
Dr. Snow conducts comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for individuals 18 years and older for a variety of purposes, including FAA evaluations. Dr. Snow is certified to conduct Cog-Screen-AE and Basic HIMS (Human Intervention Motivation Study) procedures, which are required for these FAA evaluations.
Dr. Snow obtained a B.A. and M.A. in Psychology from University of Maryland Baltimore County. He earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1999 from the University of Maryland Graduate School. Internship training was completed at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in East Orange, NJ, in the Clinical Neuropsychology track. He then completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Michigan, Department of Psychiatry. He is board-certified in Clinical Neuropsychology by the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology (ABCN; #6809) of the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). He is a member of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (AACN) and the International Neuropsychological Society (INS).
Since 2001, Dr. Snow has had a primary appointment at the NIH-National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and he established and is Director of its Neuropsychology Consult Service. Dr. Snow has published over 25 peer-reviewed journal articles on neuropsychological features of various genetic disorders, infectious diseases (e.g., HIV), dementias such as Alzheimer’s disease, and psychiatric illness. He has also authored and co-authored several book chapters and presents at national conferences. He was selected by the AACN as a nationally recognized expert for a consensus conference to describe uniform qualitative descriptors for neuropsychological tests. He holds a faculty appointment in the Department of Medical Psychology at the Uniformed Services University (USU) of the Health Sciences.
Dr. Snow enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. His hobbies include bicycling and woodworking.
