Dr. Erin Severe is a licensed psychologist in the state of Maryland (license #06245). She is also authorized to provide telehealth services in MD, DC, VA and over 30 other states.

Dr. Severe received her B.A. from the University of Maryland where she graduated with honors in Psychology. She earned her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, specializing in Neuropsychology and Health Psychology, at the American School of Professional Psychology. Internship training was completed at the Mid-Atlantic Internship Consortium where she provided individual and couples therapy to a diverse population. She also conducted fitness for duty evaluations for pre-hires in the Baltimore City Police Department. Her research has investigated substance abuse among college students and she has co-authored several articles on substance abuse.

Dr. Severe has experience working in a variety of settings, including, community mental health, private practice, schools, and detention settings. Assessment experience has included evaluations for bariatric surgery, ADHD, learning disabilities, autism, traumatic brain injury (TBI), age-related memory impairment, and other neuropsychological concerns. She has completed advanced training in couples therapy and enjoys helping couples at all stages of their relationship to enhance their connection and improve intimacy and communication.

Currently, Dr. Severe is a staff psychologist at The Snow Psychology Group, LLC where she provides individual therapy, couples therapy, and group therapy to adults of all ages, from young adults through older adults. She conducts psychotherapy from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) orientation and couples therapy through the Gottman Method. She also integrates additional orientations for couples therapy, such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Dr. Severe works with diverse couples to enhance their connection and communication at all stages of their relationship and also provides pre-marital counseling. She specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD management, and relationship issues. She also leads our Coed Separation and Divorce Support Group. Additionally, she provides psychological assessments for pre-bariatric surgery evaluations.

Professional affiliations include the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Maryland Psychological Association (MPA).

In her spare time, Dr. Severe enjoys hiking with her dog, Brody, and spending time with her husband and two children.
