Insurance
At The Snow Psychology Group, we believe that treatment decisions should be determined by you and your psychologist based on your needs and not by a third party payer, which can impose rigid treatment options and limitations upon your care. We also believe that the content of your mental health sessions should be private.
Therefore, The Snow Psychology Group does not participate with any insurance plans. All services are conducted on a fee-for-service basis and all staff members are out-of-network providers. This means that you will pay directly for your services and we will provide you with receipts that you can submit to your insurance carrier for any out of network reimbursement for which you are eligible. Our services may be eligible for Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) reimbursement.
Although you can submit your out of network claims for free to your insurance company, some people may prefer paying a small fee to a company called Reimbursify who will submit your claims for you and make it easier to navigate insurance issues. We have no financial relationship to this company but want to provide our busy patients with information and options that can simplify and ease the process of receiving your out of network reimbursements quickly.
As licensed mental health providers, our services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. This is between you and your insurance company. Before scheduling your first appointment, please check your coverage carefully to be certain of your terms and reimbursement rates. Applicable therapy procedure codes include: 90791 (Initial Diagnostic Evaluation), 90834 (45-minute therapy session), 90847 (Couples Therapy and Family Therapy), 90853 (Group Therapy). Neuropsychological evaluation procedure codes may vary.
Some questions to discuss with your insurance carrier:
- Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
- What is my deductible and has it been met?
- How many psychotherapy sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- Is pre-authorization required from my primary care physician?
- Within what time period must the claim be submitted to the insurance company?
Fees
The Snow Psychology Group offers a free 15-minute initial phone consultation to get a sense of your particular issues and to match you with the psychologist who best fits your needs. Rates for individual and couples therapy vary by psychologist. Our rates are comparable to average psychotherapy fees for licensed psychologists in the greater Rockville/Bethesda area. Group therapy fees vary by group. Please see the full description of our current group therapy offerings. Rates for neuropsychological evaluations and FAA evaluations vary based on type of evaluation requested. Visa, Mastercard, and Discover cards are accepted. Payment is expected at time of service. Our psychological services may be considered a tax-deductible medical expense and upon request, we can provide an annual statement for tax purposes.
